We believe that every
child is a precious gift from God of immeasurable worth and significance,
including the unborn, the mentally handicapped, the physically challenged, those
with emotional and behavioral dysfunctions and every other condition, which may
impact them from conception to the end of their natural life.
"For you created my innermost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Psalm 139:13-16 NIV
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
We believe that God
will equip us to parent our children when we fully rely upon Him as the source
of our wisdom.
"If any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."
James 1:5-6 NIV
"He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart, He gently leads those that have young."
Isaiah 40:11 NIV
"Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God."
II Corinthians 3:5
We believe that God's power is made perfect in our weaknesses as parents when we find our source of strength in Him.
"Yet I am always with
You; You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and
afterward You will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but
You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my
heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Psalm 73:23-26 NIV
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
We believe that God
will ultimately use our heartaches and tears to bring Him honor and glory.
"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed."
I Peter 4:12-13 NIV
"All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For out light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix out eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
II Corinthians 4:15-18 NIV
We believe that through our suffering God will equip us to minister to others who are likewise suffering and to bring them comfort through Him.
"Praise be to the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all
comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in
any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."
II Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
